Chloe Cole: Lucrative DEI Complex Will Fight Back

Detransitioner Speaks at Colorado State University, Condemns “Demonic” Gender Ideology

Her stern warning for the audience was that the battle had just begun.

Chloe Cole is a soft-spoken and normally shy 20-year-old. However, her compelling story and eagerness to speak out—along with reciprocal support from the Donald Trump administration—have made her perhaps the most recognizable detransitioner in the United States. She has, for example, shared her regret in a feature-length article and one-hour interview with the Epoch Times.

A guest of the Turning Point USA chapter at Colorado State University, Cole presented on the evening of March 27 under the banner of “Exposing the Trans Agenda.” Before an audience of just under 100 and with three police officers preempting any roughhousing, Cole spoke for about 25 minutes before taking questions.

Her role could be described as part of the culture war, with Christianity a strong theme of the event. It opened with a Catholic prayer.

Cole is largely an independent advocate, but she is a senior fellow with Do No Harm, an association with the stated mission of “keeping identity politics out of medical education, research, and clinical practice.” She opposes what she contends is “radical gender ideology” and “child mutilation” of young people with self-esteem and mental-health challenges. Further, she contends these individuals are the most vulnerable among us and the “victims of extreme manipulation and abuse.”

That applied to her, since she was bullied and sexually abused in school, has autistic tendencies, and felt more comfortable as a tom-boy. Rather than sex reassignment, however, she said “The cure is going through puberty.” She deeply regrets undergoing the treatment, including a mastectomy at age 15, and is especially eager to speak on campuses.

“Woke ideology—in particular, the modern transgender movement—has become a faith of sorts for many. It fills the spiritual void where religion needs to provide meaning and community.… College campuses are the primary breeding grounds. There is a wave of new language, new rules for what you can and cannot say, new moral codes that shift every month.”

Her stern warning for the audience was that the battle had just begun, to be played out at all levels of government and in the courts, akin to gun control, and even internationally. In other words, there will be long-term and determined resistance from the lucrative DEI industry that goes beyond gender reassignment. She observes a partnership between “godless” ideologues and an array of self-interested individuals, especially entitled workers and medical executives:

While the audience was largely receptive, the Q&A brought a few critical comments and prickly questions. One young lady asked why Cole had aligned herself so closely with and celebrated the Trump presidency: “I was just wondering how you support a president who is known as a womanizer, who is known to hypersexualize women?”

Cole responded: “To be honest, I don’t care about the misdeeds of his past. I just want a president who is going to get things done and somebody who aligns with my values, somebody who is going to create a country where children are no longer going to be institutionally abused for money. Kamala Harris never would have done that. This country would be much different if he hadn’t been elected. It’s not a country I would have wanted to live in.”

A recurring theme among the questions was how to handle respecting people and showing kindness while not going along with the lie that they can change their sex. Cole did not have an easy solution, but she commented that “these people deserve somebody that is unafraid to speak the truth to them.… They need a second opinion, so be that person for them. I think it’s natural to have some reservations about doing this, especially if you are afraid about potentially risking your relationship with them, but I think the most important thing is that you put it out there … This is something that is never actually going to bring you to the opposite sex. It’s dangerous, and the premise of it is just false … they have other options.”

Cole shared with the Impunity Observer her take on the potential return of woke ideologies to the federal government, as has been documented with US activities in Guatemala: “It depends on how we handle this next four years. We need to be strong on these issues. We cannot concede any ground, and we need to create provisions that will ensure that these ideologies are not going to infect our government or our institutions ever again.”

The Turning Point USA chapter leaders noted that they were the campus’s only conservative, market-friendly organization. Apparently, the College Republicans and a pro-life group abandoned Colorado State University, since they could not find sufficient manpower to maintain the leadership structure. One of the chapter leaders also shared that he was pleased with the relative decorum shown by attendees, in contrast to other events with Cole speaking.
